Richard Saltzman
Richard Saltzman is a Senior Advisor and Board Chair at Ranger Global Real Estate Advisors. Mr. Saltzman has over 45 years of experience in global financial services and the real estate investment business. Most recently, Mr. Saltzman served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Colony Capital, Inc. Over a 15-year tenure at Colony, he helped lead the transformation of the firm from a single opportunistic global strategy with approximately $3 billion of assets under management to a multi-faceted, diversified real estate investment manager with approximately $43 billion of assets under management.
Prior to joining Colony, Mr. Saltzman spent 24 years in the investment banking business primarily specializing in real estate-related businesses and investments, concluding that chapter of his career as Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch’s investment banking division. Mr. Saltzman was the architect of many pioneering real estate-related innovations, including the Kimco Realty Corporation IPO and the Zell/Merrill Lynch series of funds, the predecessor entities to Equity Office Properties (EOP), amongst others.
Mr. Saltzman is a member of the Board of Directors of Kimco Realty Corporation (NYSE: KIM), a member of the Board of Directors of RXR Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: RXRAU), a member of the Board of Directors of Equiem Holdings Pty Ltd., an Australian “prop-tech” firm focused on tenant experience platforms, and is an Advisory Board Member of Peaceable Street Capital, LLC, a participating preferred equity provider to commercial real estate owners. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the I Have a Dream Foundation.
Mr. Saltzman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College in 1977 and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University in 1979.
